Music is often described as a door of expression. Our musical tastes and who we listen to closely reflect who we are as people. The soundtracks of our lives are what get us through happiness, sadness and anger, and sharing our favourite songs makes us feel as if we are entrusting someone with a part of us. It allows two people to better understand each other. It says, “This song says something about me. Maybe you feel the same way I do?”

While music can serve as a link to connect better with others, it also has the ability to make one emotionally attach a song to a specific memory or person.

This page contains all the music-related memes that we post each night at 9.00pm on my Facebook page, but with a link to the original song from which we have drawn inspiration. Enjoy my music choices - may they bring you solace, comfort and healing.

LOVE - MORGAN FISHER AND YOKO ONO

This song was on John Lennon’s first solo album released in 1970. When another artist later covers a song it’s rare that it’s better than the original. However, in 1990 Morgan Fisher (former keyboard player with Mott The Hoople) recorded this sublimely ethereal version of “Love” with Yoko Ono speaking the vocals.

THERE MUST BE AN ANGEL PLAYING WITH MY HEART - EURYTHMICS

These words by Annie Lennox describe how I often feel during a healing session with a patient - there is that overwhelming sense of bliss. I hope that you connect with angels today.

HEALING HANDS - ELTON JOHN

These lyrics have Elton John looking for healing in a higher power. We can all do that. Wishing you healing.

EVERYBODY HURTS - REM
